
It’s that time of year again. Fall? Yes. It’s also Homecoming 2010: Press Play (I assume “Press Play” because we are DJing 5 events this week). I’m here to give you a full festivity breakdown.
Monday, September 27th:
The Ceremonial Pressing of Play Will Occur at noon in the Centennial Mall featuring WXUT music and a pancake eating contest. >Event
Monday Night Mayhem will feature Madden 2011 and Call of Duty: Modern Warefare 2 in the SU South Lounge at 7PM. Prizes will be awarded and Apple will be demoing products. >Event
Tuesday, September 28th:
Midnight Breakfast will be just that: breakfast at midnight! Wacky! It will take place from 10PM-midnight in I-House. >Event
Wednesday, September 29th:
Call of Duty: the Student Athlete Advisory Council will be hosting a sports equipment drive for a local elementary school. For a donation, you will qualify for an iPad raffle to be held Saturday at the Ultimate Tailgate. The top 10 homecoming candidates will also be announced. >Event
Thursday, September 30th:
A Pep Rally will occur from noon-2PM on the steps of the Student Union. Also a car will be present for you to beat out your anger. >Event
UT Unplugged is the Homecoming tradition in the Flatlands behind the tennis courts and North of Parks Tower. From 7PM-10PM enjoy the sounds of music coming out of speakers, Cam yelling TOL, along with giveaways and a bonfire. The rain location is Rocky’s Attic in the Student Union. The Top 5 King and Queen candidates will be announced. >Event
A Talent Show will take place from 7PM-11PM in UHall’s Doermann Theater sponsored by NPHC. >Event
Friday, October 1st:
The 2010 Rocket Showdown will occur from 3:30PM-6:30PM in the Health Education Center. The event will contain seven challenges from childhood videos games converted into full-size, real life challenges! >Event
Saturday, October 2nd:
Blue Key Homecoming Parade will be happening on Bancroft Street from 2PM-4PM and will feature floats from various UT organizations. >Event
The First Annual Ultimate Tailgate will follow the parade from 4PM-7PM before the Rockets take on Wyoming. >Event
As you can see the next week is jam-packed of fun, free events for all UT students, with PRIZES! So we hope to See You At The Game and any time music is playing…unless it’s bad music then it’s not us.
