Broadcasters

 

ISAAC PETKAC: Isaac is entering his 2nd season as the lead Play by Play voice of the Rockets for Football, Basketball, and Baseball, and his first as the Sports Director at the station. He is currently a Sophomore here at UT, majoring in Media Communications/ Sports Broadcasting. Last season, Isaac called multiple events, including two MAC championship games (Football at Ford Field and Basketball at Quicken Loans Arena). In addition, Isaac has called games on ESPN3 for Rocket Softball, Baseball, and Volleyball, serving as both a Play by Play and color commentator. Prior to arriving at UT, Isaac called games for General Mclane High School at their newly created radio station, which he helped to create. In addition, he is the PA announcer for numerous baseball tournaments around the Erie, PA area, including District, Regional, and State tournaments for baseball’s 12-14 and 13-16 age divisions as well as 17-18 year old senior legion baseball.  In addition, Isaac will be teaming up with Erie News Now, a local sports station, to cover various NCAA and NFL events.

JAKE PLAGENS: Jake is in his first season as the lead color commentator for WXUT, occasionally stepping in as a Play by Play commentator. Jake is also a Freshman at UT with a major in Media Communications/Sports Broadcasting. This year, Jake has been on the call for many events, including both MAC title games and color on ESPN3 for baseball. Jake is a graduate of North Royalton High School, where he currently serves as one of the PA announcers for Varsity Girls Basketball when available. In 2018, Jake will serve as a Co Sports Director for WXUT while being back in the booth with Isaac as the broadcast team for Football and Basketball.

STEVEN BIEBER:  Steven is entering his Junior year at UT and his 3rd year as a broadcaster at WXUT.  Although he had no previous experience, Steven quickly became acclimated to life in the press box and joined on as a broadcaster for the station. This year, Steven will be calling games as part of WXUT Sports.
