Sawyer is in the station almost every day, even on weekends. Whether he is working on scripts and recording his show or just hanging out with other people in the studio, it is one of his favorite spots on campus.

His show, Turnstiles, records every Wednesday from 8-10PM. His show mainly focuses on classic rock/rock music, and every week he explores an album, artist, and song and does a deep dive on them and the making of said song/album. His love for rock music has really helped him to express himself at WXUT, even stating that his show and its topic is a “detox from [his] day.”

His favorite thing about being a part of WXUT is the community and people. Ever since he was recruited as a freshman, he has found some of his closest friends and made some very fond memories with the WXUT family. He said that he especially loves how everyone is able to bond over their love for music and radio, even if they don’t necessarily enjoy the same genres or styles.

Hanging out in the station or being a guest on other people’s shows has given him the chance to have some amazing conversations that he might not have gotten to experience had it not been for his involvement at WXUT.

Sawyer is beyond proud to represent and be a part of WXUT.
